TOUCH PRO DUO
Touch Pro Duo, our new standard dual Touchscreen system, allows the user to simultaneously view and interact with multiple features at once. This gives the flexibility to use the system more efficiently, whilst viewing all of the information required. For instance, you can use the navigation system in the upper screen whilst playing media on the lower screen.
The unique, hidden until-lit switches on the steering wheel reduce the number of controls within the cabin. These capacitive switches accomplish a host of functions that you want the vehicle to perform. More regularly used features such as media and phone can now be fully operated from the new steering wheel controls in combination with the Interactive Driver Display helping to reduced driver distraction.
INTERACTIVE DRIVER DISPLAY
With its ultra sharp resolution delivering smooth curves and sharp edges, this system features an optional high-definition 31.24 cm (12.3) Interactive Driver Display. You can interact directly with the display and can control your media, make and receive phone calls and select features to populate your chosen view. You are able to choose from three different views: Dual Dial, Single Dial or Extended.
REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT
This optional system features two 20.32cm screens in the headrests and can play movies and TV channels including digital. Each screen is controlled independently. The system has two USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI and Mobile High-Definition Link that supports most smartphones, tablets or other devices. Two sets of WhiteFire® connected headphones and wireless remote are also provided.
InControl features extend Range Rover Velar connectivity and infotainment, providing the option of adding Navigation Pro with Pro Services and a 4G Wi-Fi Hotspot, giving you and your passengers the very highest level in connectivity and convenience. The optional Smartphone Pack makes screensharing easier with InControl Apps.
Ingenium is Land Rover’s up-to-the-minute generation of all-aluminium engines. Lighter, more fuel efficient and powerful than its predecessors, it utilises cutting-edge innovations, such as the Continuous Inlet Variable Valve Lift system, to enhance every aspect of performance, fuel economy and helps to reduce CO2 emissions.
LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINIUM ARCHITECTURE
Range Rover Velar aluminium body architecture has been designed for optimum safety, strength and greater efficiencies. High-strength alloy sides and high-density damping panels are incorporated together with a rear dynamic stiffening brace to reduce weight without compromising on safety.
LAND ROVER IGUIDE (COMING SOON)
The Land Rover iGuide app uses the latest augmented reality technology to explain all the need-to-know features and controls of your Range Rover Velar. It also doubles as a mobile owners’ manual, ensuring you always have the answer to any question to hand.
Torque Vectoring by Braking delivers controlled, responsive cornering, working in conjunction with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics. Together they balance the distribution of engine torque between the four wheels, making the vehicle feel poised and sure-footed.
This system delivers a flat ride and optimum control by monitoring body and steering movements up to 500 times a second. It reacts to driver and road inputs by offering continuously variable damper settings between soft and firm extremes.
DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) monitors the vehicle’s dynamic behaviour and intervenes if it determines the vehicle is not responding to the driver’s inputs. It helps ensure Range Rover Velar delivers a connected, balanced and sure-footed drive. One that you will relish both on and off-road.
ROLL STABILITY CONTROL (RSC)
Roll Stability Control is integrated with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) to reduce the possibility of rollover, while providing capability to steer around an obstacle or another road user. It monitors the vehicle motion and cornering forces to detect any potential risk of rollover. If any risk is detected, braking is applied to the outside front wheel to reduce forces which decreases stability.
ACTIVE REAR LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL
Active Rear Locking Differential* offers the additional benefit of more traction on corners and more grip off-road. It does so by controlling the slip between the left and right wheels on the rear axle.
*Optional on D300 and P380 powertrains.
LOW TRACTION LAUNCH
On slippery surfaces, such as grass and snow, torque can be balanced between the front and rear wheels to maximise traction. In extreme conditions where only the front wheels have traction, up to 100 percent of engine torgue can be distributed to the front wheels for optimum grip.
ELECTRONIC AIR SUSPENSION
A competent, composed drive is enhanced by the latest four-corner electronic air suspension system* providing exceptional wheel articulation and poise. Capable of taking on tough situations, this system keeps Range Rover Velar stable no matter how rough the terrain. For increased ride quality, it switches heights seamlessly when necessary.
*Fitted as standard on D300 powertrains.
Standard on Range Rover Velar models, our unique Terrain Response systems enable the driver to optimise the vehicle’s engine, gearbox, centre differential and chassis systems to match the demands of the terrain, by selecting one of the easily identifiable driving modes. Terrain Response 2 is an option that takes the capabilities of the award-winning system to a new level. This features an automatic setting which monitors the current driving conditions and systematically selects the most suitable terrain setting.
ADVANCED TOW ASSIST
Optional Advanced Tow Assist allows you to control the direction of your trailer when reversing. Using the Terrain Response 2 reconfigurable rotary dial via the Touch Pro controls, the system controls the vehicle's steering to achieve the desired trailer trajectory, as displayed on the Touchscreen.
HILL DESCENT CONTROL
Land Rover's patented Hill Descent Control (HDC) technology assists the driver with controlled descents of difficult slopes. It does so by maintaining a constant speed and applying braking seperately to each wheel. Hill Start Assist, which comes as standard, ensures the vehicle doesn't roll backwards as it pulls away on an incline.
STANDARD DRIVER AIDS
REAR PARKING AID
Rear Parking Aid makes reversing into tight spaces easier and safer. Select Reverse and sensors in the rear bumper are automatically triggered. The Touchscreen and audio provide feedback on your proximity to obstacles as you park.
CRUISE CONTROL WITH SPEED LIMTER
When you’re cruising on the motorway or travelling in slow-moving traffic, this system will help keep your vehicle a safe distance from the one in front should it slow or stop.
COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
CONFIGURABLE AMBIENT LIGHTING
This optional feature allows you to vary the colour and shade, changing the ambience of the cabin to suit your mood. There are ten colours in total.
The split sliding armrests, which operate independently, help maximise your individual comfort.
FOUR-ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL
This optional system provides separate controls for the driver, front passenger and those on each side of the second row of seats. Includes additional vents in the B-pillar.
AUTOMATIC ACCESS HEIGHT
To enjoy an even higher level of comfort, Automatic Access Height, as part of the optional electronic air suspension*, allows you to get in and out with greater ease as the feature lowers the vehicle by 40 mm.
*Standard on V6 engines. Optional on D420.
