BLACK DESIGN PACK
The Black Design Pack is available in all exterior colour options. Features include Narvik black grille, fender vents and black mirror caps, while black Discovery bonnet script and tailgate badging add the finishing touches.
Land Rover has partnered with Meridian, a world leader in high-performance audio technologies and digital sound processing, to develop advanced sound systems for Discovery Sport. The 825 W Meridian Surround Sound System includes 16 speakers and a dual channel subwoofer, delivering crystal clear highs and rich, deep bass notes throughout the cabin. You hear your music just how you want to.
Your smartphone and vehicle can provide a wealth of information and keep you entertained. InControl Apps helps link your smartphone seamlessly to the system, allowing you to control compatible apps via the Touchscreen, whilst the Meridian™ Sound System plays your music.
Delivering a sportier, more economical performance, the new 4-cylinder 2.0 litre Si4 177 kW Petrol engine provides maximum efficiency, performance and fuel economy through a Continuously Variable Valve Lift system in combination with variable cam timing. Diesel options are also available including the 110 kW and 132 kW.
Your vehicle delivers industry-leading capability through technology such as All Terrain Progress Control that enables you to set and maintain a steady speed in challenging conditions; Terrain Response that adapts drive to surface; and Hill Descent Control, to see you safely down steep inclines.
COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
CONFIGURABLE AMBIENT INTERIOR LIGHTING
With the option of Configurable Ambient Interior Lighting on SE, HSE and HSE Luxury, you can vary the colour and shade to change the ambience of the cabin to suit your mood.
The Terrain Response system comes as standard with all 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) engines and adapts to the responses of the vehicle’s engine, transmission, differentials and chassis systems to maximise driveability, comfort and traction. A choice of four settings; General Driving, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Ruts and Sand, ensure the vehicle is sure-footed no matter what the terrain or weather condition.
HILL DESCENT CONTROL
Land Rover’s patented Hill Descent Control (HDC) is a standard feature on all our 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) vehicles. HDC assists the driver with controlled descents of difficult slopes by maintaining a constant speed and applying braking separately to each wheel.
TESTED TO EXTREMES
In the ‘neutral sound’ of our semi-anechoic chamber we precisely expose the cabin to a range of frequencies and vibrations, making certain that Discovery Sport sounds refined at every speed and across every surface.
In our climate chambers we can recreate some of the most challenging wind conditions Discovery Sport will face. Not just 240 km/h blizzard winds, but high ambient temperatures and low airflow situations. Only by pushing all systems to their limits do we develop true reliability.
In real world environments and our climate chambers, we freeze vehicles to -40°C and bake them to 50°C. Key functions and systems are then scrutinised to our exacting standards. So even in the most remote locations, comfort and peace of mind are never far away.
From the icy proving grounds of Arjeplog, Sweden, to Dubai’s unforgiving desert sands, we ensure our legendary all-terrain performance is innate in every vehicle. Prototypes are developed across approximately 8 500 km of the most demanding off-road routes.
9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
The lightweight, compact 9-speed Automatic Transmission provides optimum fuel economy and CO2 emissions, as well as greater control in low-grip conditions or when towing through the specially designed, ultra-low first gear.
Specifically designed for transverse applications, it is one of the most efficient and technically advanced ever used in a production vehicle. The higher top gear not only reduces fuel consumption but the lower engine revs improve comfort and reduce noise when cruising at a sustained speed.
A standard feature of all our 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) vehicles, the Torque Vectoring by Braking system enhances the Discovery Sport’s agility and stability when cornering. The system constantly balances the distribution of torque between all four wheels, whether on or off-road, to improve grip and inspire confident steering.
Land Rover’s commitment to sustainability is manifest in its current range of vehicles, utilising a wide range of innovative and efficient technologies.
ADVANCED LIGHTWEIGHT MATERIALS
Discovery Sport’s lightweight panels and components combined with advanced construction technologies not only deliver outstanding strength and ride refinement but also contribute to heightened efficiencies across the range of engines.
This standard feature, when activated, prioritises the most efficient vehicle settings including automatic transmission and comfort features like heating and Air Conditioning in order to minimise fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
With its more streamlined profile, Discovery Sport is one of the most aerodynamic Land Rover vehicles.
Land Rover offer specific derivatives that deliver the lowest possible CO2 emissions across our range - we call these our E‑capability vehicles. A unique Blue SPORT badge on the rear of the vehicle denotes the lowest CO2 engines of the range which can be as low as 123 g/km when you choose 2WD or 129 g/km on a 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) manual TD4 110 kW diesel.
LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT
Discovery Sport is designed with a life cycle approach, aiming to minimise environmental impact by considering the entire life cycle of the vehicle. From manufacturing, through customer use to end-of-life recycling, each element of the life cycle has been analysed with a view to consuming fewer natural resources, using more sustainable materials and minimising waste.
