Tile technology is now available with InControl Apps, integrating with the existing InControl Touch and new InControl Touch Pro infotainment systems within the New Discovery Sport to help make lost items a worry of the past. The partnership between Land Rover and Tile allows customers to establish a list of ‘Essentials’ using the vehicle’s touchscreen, which are always checked when the app is initiated. If items are lost inside the vehicle, customers are able to sound a 90-decibel alarm on the Tile tag, to help locate them.
With the average person spending 15 minutes a day searching for lost items*, often as a result of the rush to work or preparing for the school run, the in-vehicle technology, new to the Discovery Sport, can alert drivers to the fact that their wallet or bag may have been left behind and help track them down.
Peter Virk, Jaguar Land Rover’s Director of Connected Technologies & Apps, said: “Our unique partnership with Tile means customers can check the status of tagged items using Discovery Sport’s touchscreen, so forgotten items will be a thing of the past.”
The InControl Touch Pro infotainment system is at the heart of the technological additions to the vehicle, featuring a large 25.91 cm (10.2) touchscreen and intuitive menus and swipe and pinch options, like you would find on a smartphone or tablet. A 60 GB Solid State Drive helps deliver state of the art capability and superfast access, which is 100 per cent faster than a typical hard drive speed. This is achieved by the first automotive use of Intel’s high performance Quad-Core computing and Graphics processor.
In addition to the introduction of this technology the 2017 Discovery Sport also has a number of design additions, including colour choices such as the new Discovery Sport Black Limited Edition which features a Dynamic style grille, black SPORT badging and privacy glass. The New Discovery Sport also comes in four additional body colours, Silicon Silver, Farallon Black, Carpathian Grey and Aruba.
